I have been cooking professionally for about six years, and I don't know what else I would do with my life. Cooking for the people I love and learning about food, where it comes from and what's great about it is the most awesome, rewarding thing in the world to me. Simple, honest food that is fresh and local and filling sums up what I love about life. I have worked as a prep cook, dish washer, busser, a butcher's apprentice, spice/tea retail slave and finally, now, as a kitchen manager at a high volume neighborhood bar and grill.
I want to make it clear that this is not a "food" blog. I might include recipes from time to time, but all I really want to do is talk about my feelings and experiences as a person who makes a living in the food service industry. If you want to see a really good food blog, go here. I'm also trying to stay anonymous so I can talk freely about all the things I'm doing, without invoking the wrath of restaurant drama which is especially lame. Even lamer than office drama. Do not want.
